Job Summary
Lead facilities strategy and operations across the Brooklyn Navy Yard's 300-acre mixed-use campus, overseeing 60 buildings and a team of 57 including unionized maintenance, custodial, and vendors. Direct all aspects of infrastructure, lifecycle planning, and preventive maintenance for HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems while managing large-scale procurement and capital projects. Establish data-driven practices using CMMS and building analytics to drive sustainability, energy performance, and tenant satisfaction. Prepare budgets, monitor work orders, and lead emergency preparedness plans for campus-wide events and regulatory compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field
- 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in facilities or property management, preferably in a mixed-use, institutional, or campus type environment
- 10+ years of experience managing maintenance and custodial teams, with 5+ years of experience managing people leaders and vendors/contractors
- 5+ years of experience working with a Unionized workforce
- Active, valid driver's license
- OSHA 10-hour certification
- Must be able to work weekends and evenings as needed
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Building Automation Systems (BAS) experience
- Certification of Refrigeration (Q01)
- Category 7G Cooling Tower Water Treatment License (DEC)
- Fire Safety / F59 Emergency Action Plan Director Certificate of Fitness (FDNY)
- Sprinkler S-12 Certificate of Fitness (FDNY)
- Standpipe S-13 Certificate of Fitness (FDNY)
- OSHA 30-hour and/or 511
- EPA Universal Technician Certification
- Air Compressor Certificate of Fitness A-35 (FDNY)
- Certified Facility Manager (CFM)
- LEED AP or Green Associate
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
Desired Qualifications
