Job Summary
Lead Capstone's research and advisory work across European electricity markets, utilities, power generation, grid infrastructure, and energy transition policy. Develop differentiated, forward-looking investment theses based on legislative, regulatory, political, and market developments. Serve as a senior advisor and thought leader to institutional investors, including hedge funds, asset managers, and private equity firms, while building relationships with European policymakers and industry executives. Advise clients on the investment implications of EU and national-level energy policy, lead senior client engagements, and contribute to business development by identifying new opportunities. Produce high-quality research reports, policy briefings, and investment analysis, representing Capstone at industry conferences and collaborating with global sector teams to deliver integrated insights. Mentor junior team members and contribute to the growth of the European energy research practice.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 8+ years of relevant experience in energy policy, investment research, consulting, investment banking, or related fields
- Significant expertise in European electricity markets, power generation, utilities, grid regulation, and energy transition policy
- Demonstrated experience advising institutional investors or producing investment-oriented energy and policy research
- Established network across European policymakers, regulators, industry stakeholders, and/or financial institutions
- Strong familiarity with EU energy policy and regulatory frameworks and key European power markets
- Fluency in English
- Eligible to work in the EU without sponsorship
- Based in or open to relocation to London, Paris or Brussels

- Advanced degree in Public Policy, Economics, Finance, Energy Systems, or a related field
- Proficiency in another European language
- Exceptional analytical, strategic, and commercial judgment
- Deep expertise in European energy policy, electricity markets, and the energy transition
- Strong track record of developing differentiated investment insights and thought leadership
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage C-suite executives and senior investment professionals
- Proven ability to lead complex client engagements and drive business development
- Strong leadership and mentorship capabilities
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to independently develop new research, client, and business opportunities
- Passion for the intersection of policy, politics, energy markets, and financial markets
