Job Summary
Senior Veterinary Assistant – Internal Medicine at Sage Concord supports board-certified veterinary internists in a fast-paced, high-acuity specialty hospital. Responsibilities include assisting veterinarians and technicians in internal medicine diagnostics and treatments, animal restraint and handling for dogs and cats, collecting and processing laboratory samples, supporting client communication, maintaining EMR documentation, assisting with endoscopy and ultrasound, preparing and maintaining equipment, supporting radiology and diagnostic imaging, monitoring hospitalized patients, and coordinating hospital flow. Opportunities exist to rotate into other specialty departments as needed and provide cross-departmental support (internal medicine, surgery, emergency).
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with animal handling and restraint
- Experience with laboratory sample collection and processing
- Familiarity with veterinary medical terminology and hospital workflow
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred
