Job Summary
Manage the technical operation of 3–4 Long Distance towage DP2 tugs, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant performance under international conventions and company requirements. Plan and oversee maintenance, repair activities, and dry-dockings while monitoring vessel condition, fuel efficiency, and PMS compliance. Conduct regular inspections, coordinate procurement of spares and services, and finalize operational budgets to control expenditures. Liaise with crewing departments, master's, and chief engineers to align technical and safety priorities, and support incident response with root-cause analysis. Provide clear reporting on vessel performance and incidents to owners and the Fleet Manager, representing company interests in third-party audits and inspections.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Chief engineer on DP vessel or Vessel Manager
- Solid background in the technical and operational management of vessels
- Deep technical understanding of shipboard DP2 and towing related systems
- Familiarity with SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM, ISPS, OVID, OVMSA and other international conventions governing vessel safety, environmental protection and operational compliance
- Proficient in English
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in using MS Office suite of applications
- At least two years experience in handling similar vessels
- Required to hold Class 1 Certificate of competency as Chief Engineer Officer
Desired Qualifications
- Sailing experience on similar vessels as Chief Engineer
