Senior Validation Engineer (Systems / DDR Subsystems)

Job Summary

Validate DDR3/DDR4 interfaces on modem platforms, develop comprehensive validation plans covering timing, electrical, and performance requirements, and perform margin analysis including voltage, frequency, and temperature characterization. Debug memory training failures, calibration issues, and initialization sequences while executing read/write eye analysis and BER measurements. Develop FPGA-based prototypes for modem subsystems, bring up FPGA platforms, and support hardware/software co-validation using Verilog/SystemVerilog. Perform board bring-up, validate high-speed interfaces including PCIe, USB, and Ethernet, and develop automated validation scripts using Python/C/C++ to execute test execution, log analysis, and regression testing.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Ideally, 8-15 years or total post graduation working experience
  • 5–12+ years of experience in DDR validation, FPGA development, or high-speed digital systems
  • Strong understanding of DDR architecture and JEDEC standards
  • Experience with DDR3
  • Experience with DDR4
  • Experience with modem or wireless SoCs (4G/5G)
  • Familiarity with memory controller microarchitecture
  • Experience with Git, and automated regression frameworks
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex cross-functional issues
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities
  • Self-driven with a structured approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment
  • Hands-on experience with High-bandwidth oscilloscopes
  • Hands-on experience with JTAG debuggers
  • Hands-on experience with BERT
  • Hands-on experience with TDR
  • Hands-on experience with Thermal chambers
  • Experience validating PCIe
  • Experience validating USB
  • Experience validating Ethernet
  • Experience validating MIPI CSI/DSI
  • Experience validating UFS
  • Experience validating UART
  • Experience validating SPI
  • Experience validating I2C
  • Proficiency in Python
