Senior Utility Distribution Project Manager

Job Summary

Manage a portfolio of 10–20 electric distribution and substation projects from inception through completion, overseeing circuit rebuilds, pole replacements, and utility communications infrastructure. Review scopes, develop work plans, and coordinate outage requests and sequenced construction plans with engineering teams and contractors. Support material procurement, manage permitting reviews, and develop RFP packages including scopes of work and schedules. Evaluate contractor bids, facilitate pre-construction and progress meetings, and drive construction progress with frequent on-site support. Oversee pre-energization activities, maintain project budgets and forecasts, and report on schedule, cost, safety, and design issues. Coordinate with schedulers for detailed Primavera P6 schedules and maintain clear communication between field, project office, and utility stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 9-12 years of electric distribution or substation construction project management experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing project cost, schedule, and contractor performance
  • Working knowledge of substations, distribution systems, or utility communications infrastructure
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to client project sites

Desired Qualifications

  • PMP certification preferred
