Job Summary
Conduct user experience research with internal and external participants and use qualitative and quantitative data to inform strategy. Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile SCRUM environment to deliver intuitive user experiences, producing specifications, information architecture, wireframes, and prototypes. Perform heuristic evaluations of existing products to identify improvements and clearly communicate design decisions to diverse audiences. Propose enhancements in process and tools to ensure design-development efficiency while upholding standards of culturally inclusive, accessible, user-centered design.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field—or equivalent practical experience
- 7+ years' experience in product design for complex, web-based SaaS platforms, or enterprise B2B applications with sophisticated workflows
- Advanced proficiency in Figma or other design/prototyping software
- Strong understanding of information hierarchy, interaction design, and scalable design systems
- Ability to synthesize user research findings into clear workflows
- Design portfolio demonstrating: Data visualization for situational awareness, not charting
- Design portfolio demonstrating: Complex UX problem solving
- Design portfolio demonstrating: Systems-level design thinking
- Design portfolio demonstrating: High-fidelity UI execution
- Experience collaborating with software engineers in Agile environments
- Ability to translate technical engineering concepts into intuitive interfaces
- Degree in art, design or related field from an accredited university
Desired Qualifications
- Proven ability to drive design direction across a product or platform
- 5+ years' experience in oil & gas, energy, industrial technology, or other heavy engineering sectors
- Familiarity with drilling, completions, intervention, or performance analytics environments
- Strong understanding of data visualization principles and best practices
- Familiarity with user research techniques, including customer interviews, heuristic evaluations and usability testing
- Working knowledge of frontend technologies (HTML/CSS/React) to support effective developer collaboration
