Job Summary
Develop and implement comprehensive plans addressing sustainability, land use, zoning, and public infrastructure while considering community needs and equity. Conduct research to analyze demographic, economic, and spatial data, then prepare planning documents and presentations for stakeholders. Review site plans and development proposals to ensure compliance with zoning laws and community goals, collaborating with architects and engineers on integrated solutions. Formulate procedures for plan implementation, monitor local legislation affecting urban development, and facilitate public meetings to gather input. Manage project timelines and budgets, oversee sustainability initiatives, and mentor junior staff in technical development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Urban Planning, Environmental Science, Geography, Public Administration, or a related field
- 10+ years of relevant experience in environmental planning, sustainability, resiliency, or related disciplines
- Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.
Desired Qualifications
- Certification by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) is preferred
- Experience in environmental sustainability, energy efficiency, waste management, climate change policies, and public health a plus
