Job Summary
Senior Underwriting Specialist for Professional Solutions based in Downtown Toronto with hybrid in-office schedule (4 days/week in-office). Responsible for evaluating, pricing, and underwriting new and renewal business within delegated authority, analyzing financial, legal, and operational information to assess risk, structuring tailored coverage solutions, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements, and developing broker relationships. The role also involves promoting products through meetings and industry events, identifying new business opportunities, mentoring junior underwriters, and collaborating cross-functionally with claims, actuarial, product development, and marketing teams.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience underwriting specialty lines (E&O/Cyber/Technology preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary education in communication, business, or insurance preferred
- Strong broker and market relationships, with excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Experience in business development and marketing within the insurance industry
- Leadership or team management experience preferred
