Job Summary
Senior Underwriter responsible for quantitative and qualitative risk analysis to form underwriting assessments, managing a book of business for premium growth and profitability, initiating in-person sales and stewardship calls to agents, coordinating claims and premium audits on large accounts, and building long-term agency/account relationships. Requires experience in workers' compensation/commercial underwriting, strong knowledge of NCCI guidelines, and relationship-building with producers. Hybrid in-office schedule (Tuesdays–Thursdays in-office) based in Denver/Englewood, CO.
Required Qualifications
- At least five years of workers compensation or commercial underwriting experience
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of state / NCCI workers compensation manuals, guidelines, rating elements, bureaus and the competitive landscape
- Established relationships with producer community
- CPCU, ARM, CIC or similar certifications preferred
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel experience required
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, verbal and written
- Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, analytical skills and a self-starter
- Bachelor's degree in business or other related field preferred
