Job Summary
The Senior Underwriter for Real Estate is responsible for risk analysis and evaluation of multi subscription policies on a complex book within delegated underwriting authorities. Essential functions include analyzing data to identify risks, negotiating outcomes, managing partner relationships, and maintaining accurate records of underwriting decisions. Candidates should possess a minimum of 3-5 years underwriting experience, a university degree or equivalent, and hold a CAIB or CIP designation. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment are necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Underwriting
- University degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- CAIB or CIP designation required (Level II insurance license)
- Demonstrated ability to analyze risk, assess exposures, and make sound underwriting decisions
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
Desired Qualifications
- Prior Real Estate experience
- Proficient within Underwriting software systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including intermediate Excel skills
- In-depth knowledge of commercial underwriting principles and practices
