Job Summary
Underwrite downstream, midstream, and upstream Oil & Gas, Power Generation, and Heavy Industries insurance and reinsurance business within your authority. Select and underwrite deals by making analytical, data-driven decisions based on provided information. Develop and maintain a portfolio of Clients and Producers while acting as a thought leader for product development and refinement using data insights, research, and AI. Leverage expertise to advise senior management on strategy and collaborate cross-functionally with Risk Engineering, Claims, Actuarial, and other departments to optimize company performance. Manage your own market presence as a go-to broker resource, seeking cross-selling opportunities and fulfilling compliance requirements. Spend time designing technical training for junior underwriters and mentoring toward management positions. Minimum 5 years technical underwriting experience required. Fluency in English and Spanish with some Portuguese preferred. Bachelor's degree with professional examinations such as CPCU or ACII preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years technical underwriting experience of the energy classes
- Advanced knowledge of Underwriting and Risk Engineering concepts, practices and procedures
- The ability to effectively interact with Brokers and internal departments
- Ability to travel overseas when necessary
- Fluency in English & Spanish
- Bachelor's Degree (preferably of an engineering designation)
- progress or achievement of professional examinations– e.g. CPCU or ACII
Desired Qualifications

- Competent negotiation, analytical and decision making capabilities and skills
- Established strategic and marketing capabilities
