Job Summary
Senior Underwriter to evaluate and bind professional and general liability risks for social work and behavioral health providers within an RRG framework. Responsibilities include risk assessments, underwriting decisions, RRG program oversight, coverage determination and policy administration, customer engagement, data integrity and reporting, and regulatory awareness. Requires active P&C producer license, 7+ years of progressive underwriting experience (3+ years in E&O or healthcare liability), and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills, plus a mission-driven, client-focused approach.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, Risk Management, Finance, or a closely related field (required)
- Active Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance producer license required; multi-state licensing preferred
- 7+ years of progressive underwriting experience, with a minimum of 3 years in professional liability, errors & omissions (E&O), or healthcare/allied health liability lines
- Experience underwriting within a Risk Retention Group (RRG) framework, including familiarity with LRRA regulations, domicile state requirements, and RRG governance structures
- Track record of managing a book of business independently and making high-quality risk selection decisions within delegated underwriting authority
- Experience collaborating with actuarial, legal, and claims teams in a program or specialty insurance environment
- Knowledge of social work, behavioral health, or allied health professions is highly desirable; experience insuring non-profit or association-sponsored programs is a strong plus
