Job Summary
Review and evaluate complex small business financing requests requiring manual underwriting, analyzing financial information, credit profiles, and risk factors to make independent credit decisions. Generate contract requests, validate funding documentation, and resolve complex underwriting questions while partnering with Sales, Underwriting Processing, and Merchant Support teams. Identify opportunities to improve underwriting quality and operational efficiency within a growing fintech organization. Monday–Friday schedule with predictable hours. In-office role based in Sioux Falls, SD or Sandy, UT. Compensation ranges from $33.60 to $36.00 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of four years of underwriting experience making credit decisions in a financial services or lending environment
- Experience analyzing complex financial information and applying underwriting guidelines
- Strong analytical, mathematical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and internet-based research tools
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- Experience underwriting small business, working capital, or commercial lending products
- Experience reviewing complex or exception-based underwriting scenarios
- Experience in alternative lending or fintech
- Knowledge of business financial statements, cash flow analysis, and commercial credit evaluation
- Experience mentoring or serving as a resource for junior underwriters or underwriting processing staff
