Job Summary
The Senior Commercial Underwriter will manage a renewal portfolio, write new business, and oversee existing products across Canada while ensuring profitability and exceptional response times. Responsibilities include underwriting basic to moderately complex commercial property and casualty products, quoting new business, negotiating renewals, achieving monthly production goals, and adhering to customer service standards. The ideal candidate has over 5 years of underwriting experience, critical thinking skills, excellent time management, and strong interpersonal abilities.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years’ experience as a property/casualty underwriter
- Critical thinking and analysis
- Excellent time management and ability to multitask
- Exceptional customer service and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills & existing broker relationships
- Ability to take initiative and work effectively with minimal direction
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working for an MGA
- Completion of CIP/CAIB/CRM or working towards it
