Job Summary
Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers to develop new business in line with Department strategy, including identification and appointment of select new brokers. Review, negotiate, and accept or decline submitted business using assigned underwriting authority while working with the Vice President where additional approvals are needed. Adhere to underwriting, pricing, and file maintenance standards, maintaining account information in appropriate system files. Continuously monitor the portfolio of accounts using a proactive diary to ensure information is up to date and respond to deteriorating account conditions, alerting the Vice President immediately of material status changes. Nationwide travel may be required as needed. A Bachelor's degree is a minimum requirement, along with experience in Professional Liability underwriting practices.
