Senior Trust Fund Accountant

Job Summary
Prepare journals, reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts, and generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for trust fund clients. Monitor cash flow, execute bank transfers for surplus funds, and reconcile investment accounts with custodians and managers. Handle client inquiries, prepare working papers for annual audits, and review and assist junior staff. Take ownership of assigned clients and provide feedback on their financial aspects. This role involves managing a book of trust fund clients with a focus on full-cycle accounting and investment management. The position is based in Markham, Ontario, with a planned relocation to North York in the fall.
Required Qualifications
- 5 or more years of experience in full-cycle accounting, financial statement preparation and investment management
- College or University Diploma in business administration, with a focus on accounting
- Excellent computer skills, including MS Office applications with intermediate to advanced levels in MS Excel
- Co-operative team player with strong math skills and accounting knowledge
- Good communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- CPA student or qualification is an asset
- Experience with Accpac/Sage is an asset
