Job Summary
Senior Trial Attorney responsible for their case assignment from inception to resolution, including service of answer, discovery demands, motions, orders, court appearances, depositions, trial, etc. Maintains diary to meet deadlines on motions, orders, court appearances, appeals, and related tasks. Provides legal advice on liability and regulatory issues to encourage speedy resolution of lawsuits; appears in courts in the metropolitan area or at depositions for cases assigned to other attorneys; provides timely reports to the managing attorney and to the claims supervisor; alerts the managing attorney to problems on the file; researches the law to stay current; responds to emails and calls promptly; documents all activity in the file’s activity log.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree
- experience in trials, motions, conferences, depositions, arbitrations, all legal documents and settlement negotiations
