Job Summary
Manage litigation files from inception through discovery and trial, including service of pleadings, written discovery, expert retainment, depositions, and court appearances. Take over cases handled by others for trial and communicate file status regularly to claims. Maintain a modified caseload with strong negotiation and advocacy skills while adhering to local and state discovery rules. Requires an A.B.A. accredited law degree, active Michigan bar membership, and proficiency in Westlaw. Starting salary ranges from $150,000 to $200,000 with a hybrid schedule of four onsite days and one remote day in Southfield, MI.
Required Qualifications
- 5 + years of experience handling No Fault Litigation from inception to conclusion
- Knowledge of local and state discovery rules, trial procedures, and applicable substantive law commensurate with level of experience
- Ability to take full responsibility for files and handle a modified caseload while also trying cases
- Proven track record of trial skills and techniques
- Strong negotiation, research, and trial skills
- Must have a law degree from an A.B.A. accredited law school and excellent academic credential
- Must have an active law license to practice in Michigan and a member in good standing with the State Bar of Michigan
- Ability to work in a team environment with other attorneys, adjusters, claims professionals, and support staff
- Must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S.
