Job Summary
Senior Transportation Engineer to support metropolitan transportation planning through highway operations analysis, regional coordination, and preparation of technical and policy reports. Responsibilities include data collection/analysis for planning studies, contributing to the metropolitan transportation plan, presenting to TPB/COG committees, coordinating RTSMO and MATOC programs, invoicing coordination, and collaboration with DTP and GIS teams. Requires strong program management, relationship-building, and familiarity with transportation planning, performance measurement, and regional issues. Proficient in ArcGIS and Microsoft Office; ability to communicate technical findings to diverse audiences. Ideal candidate has experience in highway operations planning, teamwork across departments, and a commitment to public service.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Transportation, Public Administration, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or a related field and two (2) or more years of directly applicable work experience; OR Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Public Administration, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or a related field and four (4) or more years of directly applicable work experience in public policy, transportation, urban planning, civil engineering, or a related field. An equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, analytical and writing skills and abilities may be considered.
