Senior Transportation/Traffic Engineering Planner

Job Summary
Complete transportation planning and traffic design studies with limited supervision, including field surveys and data collection. Drive business development by building trusted relationships with clients to identify new opportunities and foster long-term partnerships. Assist with mentoring staff, performing QA/QC reviews, and preparing project scopes and proposal materials. Represent NV5 at professional functions and manage public involvement activities through newsletters and presentations. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and of the highest quality. This role requires travel throughout California and is based in the San Diego office. Candidates must hold a TE or PE license in California and possess 7+ years of direct California transportation experience.
Required Qualifications
- 5-7 years of California transportation and traffic engineering experience
- 2-7 years of direct California Transportation/Traffic planning experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or advanced degree in City or Urban Planning
- Minimum of 7 years of directly related professional work experience
- experience in California is a must
- Licensed TE or PE in California
- Experience with Synchro, Vissim, Simtraffic, VMT, TDM
- Excellent writing and business development skills
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Must have visual acuity for viewing a computer screen

- Must be able to carry, lift and push/pull up to 10 pounds frequently
- Must be able to carry, lift and push/pull up to 50 pounds occasionally
