Job Summary
Senior Transportation Project Engineer responsible for technical leadership of complex roadway projects, coordinating among design disciplines and subconsultants, and guiding proposals, budgets, and schedules. Will lead 3D roadway design modeling using AutoCAD Civil3D per RIDOT standards, supervise plan sets, provisions, and cost estimates, and support Project Managers in planning, coordination, and execution of projects. Role includes mentoring junior staff, managing a direct report, maintaining quality control, and presenting deliverables to clients, municipal boards, and professional associations. Hybrid role based in Providence, RI with consideration for candidates in MA or CT who can commute to RI 2-3 times per week. Requires BS in Civil/Environmental Engineering, PE licensure (or pursuing within 1 year), 5+ years roadway design, strong writing skills, RIDOT knowledge a plus, Complete Streets experience a plus, and a valid US driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related Engineering discipline
- Professional Engineering License or working towards licensure within one year
- 5+ years of roadway design experience
- Strong writing skills for technical memoranda, reports, proposals, contracts, and subcontract scopes of work
- Knowledge of RIDOT plan set requirements and RIDOT design process is a plus
- Complete Streets experience is a strong plus
- Valid US driver's license and clean driving record
