Job Summary
Lead and provide technical planning expertise in transportation projects involving data collection, analysis, and compliance. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing plans, conducting investigations, managing public involvement efforts, and producing visual aids for complex data interpretations. The role demands a high level of strategic consulting, mentoring of staff, and maintaining regulatory standards. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least 10 years of experience in transportation planning, alongside proficiency in various planning and visualization software.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, Environmental Planning, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 10+ years of experience working in the transportation planning field.
- Advanced proficiency with the transportation project development cycle.
- Highly proficient with reviewing surface transportation projects and program cost estimates.
- Extensive knowledge and expertise with relevant approval processes, zoning laws, and permitting requirements.
- Demonstrated technical competence leading permitting and approval of assigned planning projects.
- Advanced expertise with consulting practices and experience coordinating with clients and regulatory agencies.
- Strong self-leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience with discipline-specific software (i.e., CAD, ArcGIS, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch-Up).
- Proficiency with technical business writing and office automation software.
- Extensive critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s Degree is preferred.
- Essential professional licensure/certification.
