Job Summary
Senior Transportation Litigation Attorney expected to proactively manage a litigation caseload, conduct legal research on transportation laws and regulations, draft pleadings and memoranda, attend court hearings and depositions, negotiate settlements, collaborate across offices, and draft case analysis reports for clients. The role involves handling transportation-related litigation matters for a large international logistics provider, with opportunities to work alongside experienced attorneys and partners in a nationally recognized firm. Requires JD from an ABA-accredited law school, SC admission, 3+ years of casualty litigation, and trial experience; transportation/regulatory and e-commerce/gig-economy issues are a plus. Hybrid work arrangement offered in Columbia, SC.
Required Qualifications
- JD from an ABA-accredited law school
- Admitted to practice in the state of South Carolina
- 3+ years of general casualty litigation experience
- First and/or second chair experience strongly desired
- Trial experience required
- Transportation and logistics, trucking, and related regulatory experience preferred
- Experience with emerging e-commerce / gig economy legal issues preferred, but not required
- Deposition and motion practice experience required
- Superior analytical skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Sophisticated technical skills necessary
