Job Summary
Senior Transmitter Engineer position on Kwajalein Atoll with RGNext, focused on maintenance, testing, and improvement of UHF/VHF radar transmitters. You will lead technicians, perform component- and system-level failure analysis, implement design modifications, manage spare parts, generate schematics and documentation, support safety programs, and coordinate across engineering disciplines to meet mission requirements. Requires a BS in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field, 2+ years in electrical/RF/Radar transmitter work, high-voltage proficiency (up to 50 kV), schematic literacy, and the ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. government security clearance and U.S. passport. Must relocate to Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands, and be able to lift up to 45 lbs. Occasional non-duty hours or weekend work may be required. The role involves direct leadership of technicians, collaboration with management and systems engineering, and continuous improvement of transmitter performance through schematics updates, testing, and vendor coordination.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related STEM engineering discipline
- Two or more years’ experience in the electrical engineering field preferably working radar transmitter or RF experience
- Strong understanding of electrical principles
- Strong circuit troubleshooting skills and the ability to read and interpret schematics
- Comfortable working with high voltage (up to 50 kV)
- Familiarity with floating ground systems
- Familiarity with radar receiver systems
- General knowledge of Analog/RF components such as vacuum tube amplifiers, RF couplers, hybrids etc.
- Familiarity with and ability to operate standard electronic test equipment including spectrum analyzers and network analyzers
- Solid knowledge of the fundamentals of radar transmitter architecture
- Knowledgeable on the use and operation of transmitter amplifiers to include: Klystrons, Travelling Wave Tubes (TWT's), Vacuum Tubes and transistor devices
- High degree of demonstrated ability to effectively use high power RF measurement techniques and perform high voltage troubleshooting
- Design familiarity with switchgears, analog and digital control hardware and RFI shielding practices
- Ability to work independently with limited guidance
- Ability to assist in development of junior engineers and technicians
- Ability to lead various disciplines in the completion of projects that may sometimes be technically complex
- Full understanding of the unique safety issues associated with working at high power and high voltage
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. passport
- Must be able to relocate to the United States Army Garrison, Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands
- Must be able to lift/carry/push/pull up to 45 lbs. independently
- The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
- Qualifications We Prefer:
