Job Summary
Design transmission line routes, configurations, and structures for systems 25kV and above, performing structural analysis, sag-tension calculations, and clearance checks using PLS-CADD and AutoCAD. Develop detailed design packages for bidding, permitting, and construction while conducting site visits to evaluate terrain and identify constraints. Partner with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects, support planning with estimates and schedules, and provide construction-phase support for design changes. Engage with clients through regular meetings to provide updates and technical insight, ensuring alignment with project requirements and timelines. Maintain current knowledge of industry codes such as NESC, IEEE, and ASCE.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering
- 5-15+ years of experience in the design and analysis of transmission lines (25kV and above)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain preferred
- Solid understanding of electrical and structural engineering principles related to high-voltage systems
- Knowledge of industry standards and codes such as NESC, IEEE, and ASCE
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex technical challenges
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in design software including PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, FAD Tools, and AutoCAD
- Ability to manage assigned work independently with appropriate guidance
