Senior Transmission Design Engineer

Job Summary
Develop concepts for geartrain components to minimize part count, cost, and complexity in the drive unit. Design and analyze rotating shafts, gears, differentials, and torque split devices using CAD software. Execute system and component level tests for performance, durability, and reliability. Conduct tolerance calculations, risk assessments, and root cause analysis for validation failures. Provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams across manufacturing, quality, and supply chain. Build measurement guides, assembly samples, and design for manufacturing/assembly documents. Manage supplier interactions for prototype and mass production parts. Support production line issue resolution and drive process improvements. Master's or PhD in Mechanical Engineering required with 10+ years of transmission design experience. Based in Hanoi with competitive salary and premium healthcare benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Master's or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Transmission Systems
- 10+ years of experience in transmission design and development
- Strong background in design methodologies for transmission systems
- Components include: gear, shaft, bearing, differential, belt, chain, housing for EVs
- Design include: safety factor, efficiency, losses, lubrication, thermal, NVH
- Transmission systems: parallel gearbox, planetary, multi-speed, DCU
- Manufacturing processes: hobbing, grinding, honing, chamfering, deburring, broaching
- Advanced Metallurgy, heat treatments, recycling, inspection
- Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and failure mode analysis
- Proficiency in transmission design software such as KISSSoft, Masta, PreonLab and 3D/2D softwares: Catia is preffer, Solidworks, AutoCAD
- Design transmission system: Gear, bearing, shaft, DCU, housing, seal, etc. from feasibility to SOP
