Job Summary
Manage a wide variety of planning studies including transit alignment, mode analyses, PEL, NEPA planning, corridor plans, and active transportation plans. Lead and support client maintenance and business development efforts while analyzing transportation, land use, equity, transit, and economic data to provide metrics and recommendations. Research and implement innovative best planning practices, communicate technical information to diverse audiences, and prepare well-written technical deliverables and visual collateral. Support the Public Engagement team with virtual and in-person stakeholder outreach. Utilize Geographic Information Services, data collection, and visualization tools to drive planning initiatives across the mountain west.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in urban planning, or a closely related field
Desired Qualifications
- master's degree in planning or a similar field
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- Possess an entrepreneurial spirit – a willingness to see opportunities, take initiative, and solve problems by turning ideas into action
- Have experience in research, Geographic Information Services, data collection and analysis, spreadsheets/databases, and data visualization
- Be a strong technical writer and lead the execution of complex written deliverables
- Have a level of comfort in the preparation of charts, graphics, and other visuals for inclusion in planning documents and presentation materials or working closely with other departments to produce this collateral
- Effectively communicate technical information to audiences orally and in writing
- Collaborate effectively with agency staff, public officials, community stakeholders, internal teams, and the public
