Job Summary
Senior Traffic Modeller responsible for delivering specialist transport modelling and planning across diverse transport and infrastructure projects. Lead and mentor the team, prepare high-quality technical work, reports, and proposals, and contribute to expanding GHD’s transport modelling capability. The role involves project management of small to medium projects, ensuring compliance with industry best practices, building relationships with clients and industry networks, and supporting risk, quality, and HSE governance. Key skills include expert use of AIMSUN/VISSIM, familiarity with EMME/VISUM, programming/scripting (Python) to automate data processing, strong communications, and the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams in a hybrid Brisbane-based setup.
Required Qualifications
- Degree qualified in Mathematics, Engineering or a related field
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree qualifications in related discipline
- Typically over 8 years industry experience in transport modelling
- Excellent knowledge of transport modelling software (AIMSUN and/or VISSIM)
- Experience with strategic transport modelling software (EMME or VISUM) beneficial
- Programming/scripting experience (Python) to develop automated data processing procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a transport team
