Job Summary
Lead a traffic team through forecasting, analysis and design for transportation projects, including operations analysis with Synchro/SimTraffic, Vistro, Vissim and Aimsun; design and analysis of striping, signing, signals, lighting, ITS, and construction plans for interstates, highways, urban/rural roadways, and trails; prepare traffic impact reports, lighting calculations, and sight-line calculations; manage multiple tasks and projects within scope, schedule, and budget; coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and sub-consultants; contribute to proposals and oral presentations; ensure delivery from start to finish with a focus on quality, collaboration, and meeting deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university
- Professional Engineering (PE) licensure
- 8 - 15+ years’ experience in traffic analysis and traffic engineering design
- Experience with Synchro/SimTraffic, Vistro, Vissim, and Aimsun
- Knowledge and experience with Bentley ProjectWise, MicroStation, InRoads, OpenRoads, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and other applicable software
- Experience with DOT's plan preparation procedures and standards
- Experience with Local Agency plan preparation procedures and standards
- Significant experience and understanding of local, regional, state, and federal design criteria
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
- Self-motivated with solid organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to interact with and work cooperatively with clients and multi-disciplinary team members
- Ability to multitask while working on many projects at once
- Willingness to work on projects locally or in workshare with other offices
- Possess a proven history of meeting project deadlines and budgets
- Experience in managing technical staff and project teams
- A desire to grow personally and professionally with each project while working in a team environment to create designs and drawings supporting our client's overall project goal
