Job Summary
Senior Traffic Engineer to plan, manage, and deliver complex transportation projects with a focus on ITS, traffic signals, and roadway lighting. Lead project scope development, budgeting, scheduling, staffing, and coordination to meet objectives; oversee analysis, design, and preparation of plans, specs, estimates, and technical memoranda; ensure compliance with MUTCD, FHWA, AASHTO, and state/local standards; serve as primary technical point of contact for clients and agencies; provide technical oversight, quality control, and mentorship to engineering staff; coordinate with roadway, structural, planning, utility, drainage, and construction teams; strong emphasis on client liaison, proposal development, and scope definition.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required; PTOE certification preferred
- 8+ years of professional experience in traffic or transportation engineering, with demonstrated experience managing projects and leading technical teams
- Design-Build and alternative delivery experience is a plus
- Proficiency with MicroStation OpenRoads, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or similar design platforms
- Experience with traffic analysis tools such as Synchro, SimTraffic, VISSIM, HCS, or SIDRA is a plus
