Senior Trading and Operations Application Strategist

Job Summary
Serve as a liaison between trading desks, operations, compliance, and IT to bridge technical and business needs for order management system initiatives. Analyze and document trading lifecycle workflows, identifying gaps and proposing scalable solutions for execution and market data platforms. Partner with middle and back office teams to troubleshoot integration issues, ensuring clean straight-through processing for trade capture, confirmation, settlement, and reconciliation. Manage the technology backlog, lead testing and deployment of updates, and resolve complex issues related to trade execution and compliance alerts. Collaborate with vendors and the technology team on Agile ceremonies to prioritize work items and maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations. Monitor regulatory developments to recommend process changes and support audit requests by ensuring accurate system logs and workflow documentation.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience working with a major order management system (e.g., Bloomberg AIM, Charles River, Aladdin, or similar) in a business systems or application support role.
- Charles River experience required.
- Direct experience supporting pre-trade compliance rule configuration and post-trade compliance monitoring or trade surveillance systems within an asset management or broker-dealer environment.
- Proven ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills in high-pressure, dynamic trading environments.
- Strong understanding of investment management operations, trading workflows, and compliance processes, including regulatory requirements governing trade surveillance and monitoring.
- Working knowledge of integration between trading systems and middle and back office systems and workflows (e.g., trade capture, allocations, confirmation/affirmation, settlement, reconciliation), with a strong understanding of the full front-to-back trade lifecycle.
- Experience with the FIX protocol, market data feeds, and integration with upstream/downstream trading systems.
- Experience with electronic trading venues and platforms (e.g., Tradeweb, MarketAxess, MTS, or similar).
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to evaluate complex systems and workflows.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with traders, operations, compliance, and technology teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Remain in stationary position for prolonged periods of time

- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences in person and in electronic formats

- Ability to work in a collaborative business environment in close quarters with peers and varying interruptions
- Must be legally authorized to work in The United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
- Experience working as an Agile Scrum Master or Product Owner, utilizing JIRA (or similar) for management of work items.
- Scrum Master certification.
- Experience with low-code/automation tools (e.g., PowerApps, UiPath, or similar).
- Experience with SQL and data analysis tools.
- Familiarity with vendor APIs or data services from major OMS/EMS providers.
- Experience with dedicated trade surveillance or compliance monitoring platforms (e.g., Bloomberg AIM Compliance, Charles River Compliance, ACA ComplianceAlpha, NICE Actimize, or similar).
- Working knowledge of relevant regulatory regimes governing trade surveillance and market conduct (e.g., SEC, FINRA, MiFID II).
