Job Summary
The Facilities / Senior Trades Worker supports the safe, efficient operation of District buildings, grounds, and mechanical systems. Responsibilities include monitoring and reporting facility issues, performing routine maintenance and repairs (including HVAC and generator systems), responding to service requests, assisting with office and workspace setup, coordinating with service providers, monitoring contracted maintenance services, maintaining records in the electronic work order system, and traveling to District sites as needed while following safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED and four years of experience in the trade; or formal education may substitute for work experience
- Valid State of Florida Driver’s License
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding; work in small or confined areas; lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; pulling and pushing of objects/furniture; grasping objects, tools, equipment, materials, etc.; stooping or crouching; familiarity with electrical wiring and identification through color coding; ability to identify air leaks, bearings grinding, pitching by sound; ability to work outdoors in Florida weather conditions
