Senior Traction Power Engineer (Poland)

Job Summary
Senior Traction Power Engineer to lead a group of junior electrical engineers to develop traction power design packages, design traction power substations, feeder and equipment layouts, site plans, duct bank and conduit layouts, grounding and auxiliary power systems, and control circuits. Responsibilities include coordinating with other engineers for systems integration, performing load flow simulations, preparing reports, developing specifications, drawings and cost estimates, reviewing submittals, and providing installation, testing and commissioning support, with responsibilities in managing traction power projects. Based in Katowice, Poland, requiring a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 15–25 years of experience in traction power design; familiarity with DC (600V–1500V) and 25kV AC substations; knowledge of NFPA 70, NEC, EN, IEC and local codes; English fluency; PE license or ITE is an advantage. The role offers a flexible work environment and supports global rail projects.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 15 to 25 years of experience in traction power system design (DC and AC electrification)
- Expertise in design of DC traction power substations (600V to 1500V DC) and 25kV AC substations
- Working knowledge of NFPA 70, NEC, EN, IEC, and local regulations
- Fluency in English; Professional engineer’s license or engineer-in-training certificate is an advantage
