Job Summary
Senior Tool & Fixture Technician responsible for machining, fabricating, assembling, and modifying precision tooling, fixtures, jigs and production support equipment from CAD drawings and engineering specifications. Set up and operate manual and CNC machine tools (mills, lathes, grinders, saws, drill presses). Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and Quality to develop tooling solutions that improve safety, ergonomics, throughput, and product quality. Troubleshoot tooling and equipment issues to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. Recommend improvements to tooling design, manufacturability, durability, and setup efficiency. Perform precision measurements with metrology equipment and maintain detailed documentation of tooling modifications and repairs. Ensure compliance with safety procedures, quality standards, and 5S practices. Qualifications emphasize AA/AS degree with 6+ years of experience and proficiency in manual/CNC machining; preferred skills include CAD/SolidWorks familiarity and aerospace/defense exposure.
Required Qualifications
- AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with minimum 6 years of relevant experience
- Broad knowledge of multiple machines and machining applications
- Experience in manual and CNC machine operation
- Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings and blueprints
