Job Summary
Maintain and improve knowledge of tool design, machines, and engineering standards through training. Provide engineering consultation on manufacturing processes, tooling, and gaging requirements, including cost and delivery analysis. Work primarily on fixtures for manufacturing, work holding, and special tools used in machining and assembly. Develop and implement cost reduction programs consistent with Lean Manufacturing principles. Lead or participate in cross-functional project teams to introduce new products, improve existing processes, or advance competitive advantage. Determine practical approaches to tolerance in relation to manufacturing requirements and provide estimates for tooling design, processing, and inspection hours. Use computerized design and computer-aided engineering tools to perform job duties, leveraging a knowledge base of various materials.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 8 or more years of experience in an aerospace, engineering, manufacturing, or tool room environment
- Associate's degree and 10 or more years experience in an aerospace, engineering, manufacturing, or tool room environment
- High School diploma/GED or equivalent and 12 or more years of experience in an aerospace, engineering, manufacturing, or tool room environment
- Experience in design of aerospace tooling, fixture gages
- Proficiency in NX design software
- Previous Tool Die and Gage experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- U.S. citizenship
