Job Summary
Develop and optimize optical thin film deposition processes for ion beam sputtering, ion assist, and electron beam coating applications. Collaborate with design engineers and technicians to troubleshoot technical issues, characterize equipment, and implement root cause solutions for defect management. Manage coating process documentation, training for technicians and maintenance personnel, and formalize work instruction documents to promote continuous quality and cost improvement. Resolve technical challenges in coating chambers while reducing downtime and ensuring processes meet strict specifications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Materials Science, Physics or Engineering
- 3-5 years of in-depth experience in a thin film manufacturing environment
- Correlating thin film performance with deposition chamber hardware and processes
- Experience troubleshooting and problem solving thin film processes
- Strong communication skills
- Proficiency using Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time
- Must be able to climb stairs
- Must be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery
- Must be able to move/position up to 10 pounds
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Must not require work visa sponsorship
