Job Summary
Senior Thermal Engineer responsible for leading thermal-engineering projects from conception to production for military, governmental, and commercial customers. Engage in product ideation, laboratory/prototype builds, experimental testing, CFD/FEA simulations (ANSYS/FLUENT), and design for manufacture. Develop and evaluate components such as coldplates, heat exchangers, and thermal management systems (including microchannel cooling, 3D cooling passages, membrane-enhanced cooling, and radiation cooling) to support hypersonic vehicle and laser-weapon platforms. Conduct analytical calculations, simulations, lab testing, and proposal writing, with direct customer interfacing. Requires 10+ years of experience, PhD preferred (MSME considered), and US citizenship due to ITAR. Strong fundamentals in heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics; experience with LabVIEW data acquisition and sensors; GPA >= 3.3.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field preferred; MSME considered
- US Citizenship required due to ITAR regulations
- 10+ years of experience in thermal engineering
- Hands-on laboratory test experience
- Solid understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics
- Experience with data acquisition systems (LabVIEW preferred) including temperature, pressure, flow, and other sensors
- CFD/FEA modeling (ANSYS/FLUENT) experience is a plus
- GPA not less than 3.3 for all degrees
- Experience developing components like coldplates, heat exchangers, thermal energy storage devices
- Ability to lead projects from conception to production
- Proposal writing and direct customer interfacing
