Job Summary

Conduct detailed thermal analyses and hand calculations to solve program challenges from initial design through production support. Generate test plans, execute data reduction, and correlate models to validate hardware compliance with customer requirements. Present results to internal, external, and government customers while reviewing peer work to ensure technical accuracy. Act as a technical leader to refine department processes and lead analysis or test teams under strict cost and schedule constraints.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. citizen
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance
  • Active and existing security clearance
  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience in thermal analysis with any of the following tools: FloTHERM, PATRAN, Thermal Desktop/SINDA or ANSYS or equivalent
  • Experience in mechanical principles to solve classical thermal analysis solutions both inside and outside of finite element tools
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated experience in thermal testing: Planning, organization, execution, data reduction and correlation
  • Clearance must be active and transferable prior to start date

Desired Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • 5+ years of professional experience in the thermal analysis of complex systems that require collaboration across multiple engineering disciplines
  • Experience with solid modeling CAD tools such as CREO or equivalent
  • Experience in Electronics Cooling and Aerodynamic Heating Analyses
  • Experience presenting to external customers
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a team of thermal analysts on program efforts
  • Demonstrated experience in leading thermal testing, including model correlation
  • Ability to travel to government and other facilities in support of program activities
  • Advanced degree in aforementioned disciplines
  • ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
