Job Summary
Research market trends to apply them to our price point and meet with fabric vendors at trade shows. Request FDS sheets, work with suppliers on pricing and specifications, and maintain the PLM database and paperwork with current information. Source sub-proto yardage locally, keep precise records of fabric and wash developments from adoption through pre-production, and approve all duplicate qualities. Maintain the fabric library, organize files by mill and category, and assist designers in pulling yardage for sample cutting. Cut reference samples, label swatches for design boards, and manage daily communication with mills for all fabric follow-ups. Assist in ordering sample yardage for the market and ensure the sample area remains orderly throughout the season.
Required Qualifications
- Must be very organized and detail oriented
- Great time management and ability to multi-task
- Great aesthetic and brand understanding
- Strong background in woven and knit construction and development
- Degree in Textile Design
- Minimum 3 years experience with fabric sourcing and development
- Knowledge of MS Office
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of PLM and Photoshop preferred
