Job Summary
Develop and deliver world-class test solutions and system designs for multiple internal and external clients across project-by-project bases. Create and capture Test Equipment and Production Test Requirements for RF, Digital, and Analogue systems, while contributing to RF design analysis, integration, and test phases. Assess design integrity prior to formal reviews, manage all levels of requirements to enable design decisions, and produce accurate technical reports to support key programme choices. Engage in engineering technical meetings, support supplier interactions, and actively share best practices within a multi-disciplined team. This role sits within the Surveillance and Protection Technologies business area, focusing on delivering key technologies for the future.
Required Qualifications
- Aerospace and Defence background
- Solid understanding of test equipment development for production use
- Experience working on complex electronic and electromechanical systems
- Experience of NI LabVIEW & TestStand
- Degree qualified (or equivalent)
- Knowledge of airborne EW Systems
- Knowledge and understanding of test equipment across the platform products
- Knowledge and understanding of Bus Analysers, Spectrum Analysers, RF Power Meters
- Ability to make informed decisions based on obtaining information from the relevant technical sources
- An excellent and confident communicator and presenter, with the ability to engage with multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to effectively manage own time, potentially across multiple activities
- Hybrid working from home and onsite at our Luton site
Desired Qualifications
- Ideally you will have a mix of Systems and Hardware engineering as a background
- Hands-on experience of designing/developing complex Test Solutions for the full lifecycle
- Good understanding of the Systems engineering lifecycle
- Experience of working with external suppliers and outsourcing complex work packages
- Exposure to toolsets such as IBM DOORS, and PDM tools
- Good attitude and willingness to learn
