Job Summary
Senior Test Engineer responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive test schemes for fiber optic modules and subsystems, interpreting specifications, calibrating and validating products, analyzing test data to identify trends and deviations, and producing thorough test reports to support engineering, manufacturing, and QA teams. Requires advanced degrees in optics/engineering/physics and hands-on experience with test instruments, programming (Python, LabVIEW, Visual Basic), and strong interpersonal communication. Working conditions may include clean-room environments; ability to operate in Class 10,000 facilities and to move light equipment as needed. The role emphasizes independent task management, problem-solving, and contributing to quality management systems (ISO 9000/9001 and 14001) within an equal opportunity framework.
Required Qualifications
- BS, MS or PhD in optics, physics, engineering or related technical fields
- experience with test instruments and communication interfaces
- programming ability (Python, Visual Basic, LabVIEW, etc.)
- ability to work with little supervision and manage tasks/projects
- read, learn and analyze complex test methods
- teach/train others within work group
- excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills
- ability to move light equipment (<25lbs) and setup manufacturing stations
