Job Summary
Senior EMC/Test Engineer needed in Alachua, FL to independently conduct EMC, EMI, RF, SAR, Electrical Safety, and Environmental Simulation testing in an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited lab. Responsible for planning, scheduling, executing, and reporting testing activities, ensuring regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions (FCC, ISED, MIC, CE/UKCA, OFCA, ACMA). Requires strong technical expertise, ability to generate complete test reports, maintain detailed test records, support calibration and QA, and collaborate with project/lab management to optimize scheduling and resources. Responsibilities include interpreting regulatory standards, maintaining lab procedures, participating in quality management activities (internal audits, corrective actions), and supporting certification activities with certification bodies. Must exhibit professional communication with customers and stakeholders, work within approved test plans, and uphold laboratory safety and quality requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field
- Minimum 5-10 years of EMC/EMI testing experience in an accredited laboratory
- Hands-on EMC/RF testing experience in regulatory compliance environments
- Knowledge of FCC rules, ISED Canada, EU EN/ETSI standards
- Strong understanding of EMC/EMI, RF, wireless technologies, product safety and regulatory compliance principles
- Proficiency with laboratory instrumentation, automated test systems, and data analysis tools
- Strong technical writing, report preparation, and documentation skills
- Excellent organizational, project management, and customer communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
