Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Test Automation Developer with solid experience in backend/API test automation. The role involves designing, building, and evolving automation for server-side tests, defining testing strategies, and ensuring effective practices are embedded in teams. Candidates should have expertise in tools like Playwright and proficiency with microservices and REST/SOAP services. Responsibilities include leading testing governance, ensuring proper coverage, and CI/CD integration. Bilingualism in French and English is required, along with leadership skills to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Solid experience in backend/API test automation with Playwright or equivalent tools
- Proficiency with microservices, REST/SOAP services, databases, and messaging systems such as Kafka/MQ
- Ability to design testing strategy and justify choices of testing levels
- Hands-on experience with mocking/stubbing, contract testing, and data management
- Experience in CI/CD integration and knowledge of performance/observability
- Leadership skills including coaching and communication with stakeholders
- Bilingualism in French and English
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Testcontainers
- Knowledge of Pact or equivalent
- Understanding of mutation testing
- Familiarity with performance budgets
- Experience in regulated/critical environments
- Skills in incident prevention and MTTR reduction
Additional Requirements
- Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada
- No prior Canadian work experience required but authorization to work in Canada is necessary
