Job Summary
Senior Terrestrial Biologist at Parsons in British Columbia, responsible for leading terrestrial components of multidisciplinary transportation infrastructure projects from planning through construction, acting as technical lead for terrestrial ecology assessments and permitting strategies, coordinating Species at Risk permitting, reviewing and signing off on reports and permits, mentoring junior staff, liaising with clients and regulatory agencies, assisting in proposals and cost estimates, and preparing technical reports. Requires 10+ years in terrestrial ecology with expertise in ELC, habitat assessments, Species at Risk processes, BC environmental legislation, and proficiency in ArcGIS and Survey123; travel to field sites and across multiple BC locations is expected; option to work from Burnaby, Langley, Kamloops, Victoria offices or from home. Strong communication skills and the ability to contribute to project delivery and regulatory compliance are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or related field
- 10 years of related work experience
- Registered Professional Biologist (R.P.Bio) in British Columbia (required)

- 10+ years of progressive experience in terrestrial ecology
- Experience with Ecological Land Classification (ELC), habitat mapping, and vegetation community assessments
- Experience managing Species at Risk permitting and regulatory approvals in British Columbia
- Knowledge of federal and provincial legislation related to terrestrial species and habitat in British Columbia
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to travel to field sites and manage projects
- Proficiency with GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS, Survey123) and ecological reporting
