Job Summary
Lead design and integration of low-voltage building systems (structured cabling, wireless infrastructure, audiovisual, and electronic security) as a technical lead and client-facing consultant. Architect integrated technology systems, coordinate with MEP, structural, and civil teams to ensure seamless integration, and manage the full lifecycle from concept design through construction administration and closeout. Develop and refine internal design standards, mentor junior designers, perform field investigations and system validation to ensure installations meet design intent, and maintain ownership of deliverables for accuracy and schedule alignment.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years designing low-voltage building systems within the AEC environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology preferred
- RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) and/or CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) required
- Strong understanding of low-voltage systems (≤50V) including structured cabling, AV, security, and telecommunications infrastructure
- Knowledge of pathways, spaces, grounding/bonding, and coordination with electrical power systems
- Expertise in producing high-quality construction documents and specifications for technology systems
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Desired Qualifications
- RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer)
- CTS (Certified Technology Specialist)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology preferred
- Experience leading design and integration of low-voltage building systems
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
- Ability to mentor junior staff
- Experience with MEP coordination and construction documentation
- Knowledge of TIA/EIA, BICSI, NEC codes
