Senior Technologist

Job Summary
Serve as a senior member of the laboratory team focusing on quality systems, regulatory compliance, and continuous process improvement while supporting daily operations. Determine specimen acceptability, perform routine and complex technical procedures, and monitor instrumentation to ensure proper functionality. Mentor laboratory staff on troubleshooting and complex testing activities, while supporting quality initiatives including proficiency testing and corrective action investigations. Prepare and evaluate new reagents, document preventative maintenance, and report accurate test results to deliver quality patient care. Maintain a safe work environment and assist with validations and competency assessments as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
- 4 years or more of clinical laboratory testing experience
- Insert any specific state license if applicable
- Proficient with computers
- familiarity with laboratory information systems
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- High level of attention to detail
- strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining quality and compliance standards
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
- Monday-Friday with rotating weekends, eve shift 1:00PM-9:30PM
Desired Qualifications
- 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience in Blood Bank
- 1 year or more of Experience supporting laboratory quality assurance, quality control, regulatory compliance, inspections, audits, or process improvement initiatives
- 1 year or more of experience serving as a technical lead, senior technologist, or subject matter expert within a clinical laboratory
