Job Summary
Senior Technical Writer at Ridgeline needing to deliver clear, accurate product documentation and in‐app content experiences. Collaborates with product and engineering teams to document new features, create user guides, release notes, API references, UI text, error messages, and in‐app guidance. Applies structured authoring and topic-based writing to ensure consistency and reuse; adheres to style guides and documentation processes; supports prioritization and refinement of documentation. Reports to the Director of Technical Documentation and Content Experience; hybrid work model with onsite presence required in San Ramon, CA (at least three days per week). Must be work authorized in the United States without employer sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a technical writer focused on software product documentation and content design
- Excellent writing and editing skills, ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience writing end-user facing content and UI text for business or consumer applications
- Proficiency with topic-based authoring, DITA, and XML-structured authoring
- Hands-on experience with CCMS platforms and XML-based authoring systems (e.g., Heretto)
- Experience migrating legacy content into structured authoring environments is a plus
- Knowledge of AI systems and applying AI to content management and delivery workflows is a plus
- Familiarity with documentation tools and CMS (GSuite, Git/GitHub, Confluence, Zendesk, etc.)
- Familiarity with accessibility and localization standards
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Bonus: fintech industry experience, familiarity with programming languages (Python, Kotlin, JavaScript)
- Experience with API documentation tools (Swagger, Postman, Insomnia) and understanding of REST APIs
- Understanding of Agile and CI/CD practices
- Basic front-end development skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
