Job Summary
Produce technical manuals, system documentation, and program reports while developing materials supporting architecture and engineering teams. Create training content and other deliverables as assigned for large-scale government operations. Work independently within a fast-paced contracting environment, managing multiple efforts with time-related constraints. Collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholders, providing technical assistance and support over the phone. Maintain a Secret security clearance and work on-site five days a week.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Communications, or related field
- 8+ years of technical writing experience
- Experience supporting federal or DoD customers
- Active Secret security clearance required (or higher)
- Ability to work on site 5 days a week
- Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time-related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications, and experience working in a home office setting as well as the ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues
- Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone; good phone skills, professional demeanor, and previous customer service experience
Desired Qualifications
- Experience developing technical documentation, system manuals, architecture artifacts, training materials, and executive-level reports supporting DoD, CDAO, or federal digital modernization initiatives
- Professional certifications such as Certified Professional Technical Communicator (CPTC), Security+, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or equivalent
- Good problem-solving skills; ability to visualize a problem/situation and think abstractly to solve it
- Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others
