Job Summary
Senior Technical Specialist lead IP Platform Engineering initiatives across end-to-end IP core networks, including planning, design, capacity management, upgrades, and consolidating legacy platforms. Responsible for executing implementation plans, issuing engineering orders, guiding project objectives in stakeholder meetings, preparing AOP investment plans, and providing strategic IP network direction. Mentors engineers, creates training materials, and communicates complex technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences, with extensive experience in TCP/IP, routing & switching, MPLS, traffic engineering, EoMPLS, VXLAN, Cisco ACI, and VPC within telecommunications environments. Handles vendor management, project reporting, and ensuring successful production deployment with minimal supervision.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years in telecommunications
- 10+ years in IP networking roles
- Strong knowledge of IP networking technologies (TCP/IP, routing & switching, MPLS, traffic engineering, EoMPLS)
- Experience with data center technologies (VXLAN, Cisco ACI, VPC)
- Experience in network planning, router configuration, and working within telecommunications provider environments
- Solid project, budget, and platform management skills
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to mentor engineers and communicate complex technical solutions
